What's in a Name?

The events of September 11th, 2001 brought about a tragedy that few thought possible here in America. The loss of life and the destruction of the World Trade Center buildings in New York have affected our perceptions of the world and our value of life.

Here at Twin Towers Design, this tragedy forced us re-evaluate ourselves and our identity. Due to the sensitive nature of our name, we debated long and hard as to whether we should choose an alternative- one that might not bring up painful memories to many of our friends in the tri-state area. This debate was brought about both by similar decisions taking place in other companies, as well as comments sent to us by some of you, our clients and friends.

After much discussion, the decision was made to keep both our name and our brand intact. Although the absence of the Twin Towers in the New York skyline serves as a perpetual reminder of the events of September 11th, they remain a part of our personal memory of the city. To wipe out every instance of the World Trade Center both in name and body serves to aid those who wish to forever change our way of life to one that suits their own. This cannot be allowed to happen. We must remember, we must honor, and we must try to move forward.

Twin Towers Design has never been associated with the Twin Towers in anything but a similarity in name. Now, we have become an icon of what has been lost.
